Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

I operate as an out-of-network private psychiatric practice. This allows me to:

  • Spend more time with each patient

  • Deliver personalized treatment without insurance constraints

  • Maintain full confidentiality of your mental health records

  • Offer greater flexibility in scheduling and treatment planning

Can I use my insurance?

Yes. While I do not accept insurance directly, many patients with out-of-network benefits are eligible for partial reimbursement. I provide superbills (itemized receipts) that you can submit to your insurance company.

What are the benefits of choosing private care?

Patients who choose private psychiatric care often experience:

  • Longer, more individualized appointments

  • Continuity of care with one provider who knows your history

  • Direct access to your provider between sessions

  • No requirement for a formal diagnosis to begin care

  • Greater privacy, since your information isn’t shared with insurance

  • Improved scheduling flexibility and reduced wait times

Do you offer virtual visits?

Yes. I currently offer virtual visits only at this time. This allows for convenience, flexibility, and access to care from the comfort of your home.

What ages do you treat?

I treat adults between the ages of 18 and 60.

I do not currently offer services for individuals outside this age range.

Can you treat patients on Medicare or Medicaid?

Unfortunately, I am unable to treat individuals enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid. Federal regulations prohibit me from billing these patients directly, even for out-of-pocket services.

What are your rates?

I believe in transparent pricing.
Please refer to my Rates page for detailed information about evaluation costs, follow-up appointments, additional services, and our optional subscription plan.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept credit and debit cards only.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

I do not accept HSA or FSA cards for direct payment. However, you can often reimburse yourself using receipts from your visits. Please check with your HSA/FSA provider for specific eligibility.

How do I schedule or cancel an appointment?

You can schedule and manage appointments through my secure online portal. I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations to avoid a late cancellation fee.

How is my privacy protected?

Because I do not submit claims to insurance, your mental health records remain entirely confidential unless you choose to share them. This ensures the highest level of privacy in your care.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

At this time, my practice does not prescribe controlled substances, which include but are not limited to:

  • Stimulants (e.g., Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse)

  • Benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin)

  • Certain sleep medications (e.g., Ambien, Lunesta)

I focus on evidence-based, non-controlled treatment options and can discuss alternatives that may be appropriate for your care.
